WHAT DID YOUR MUMMY TEACH YOU ABOUT FIRST IMPRESSION?

Hello guys! It's been a while. I really missed y'all. However, it gives me great joy to be reviewing the third chapter of this mindblowing book by Yemisi Ajeojo.

"Tayelolu, you know you have a debate competition next week, you shouldn't appear with this rough hair. You must give a good first impression about yourself eehn..."

Those were some of my mum's anthem while growing up as a secondary school student especially when I have competitions. I am glad I took those lessons anyways😊 In the same vein, we should strive to give people a good first impression about us whenever they check our social media profiles.

Let's begin with our looks on social media. Your profile picture on social media should not contradict your core values. Yemisi says "your profile picture doesn't have to be serious but, it should reflect what you intend achieving by being on social media".

She also shared tips on how to choose a good profile picture. (Do well to find out by reading this book) Honestly, I have had to delete some friend requests because of their profile pictures. Yemisi says "if you want to be addressed like royalty, you must at the very least look like one in the way you carry and project yourself".

Now, let's talk about our names which is one of the means of identification. We should settle for names that are short and easy to remember. Yemisi says "a memorable name wins every time". This is not to say that we shouldn't use our given names. For instance, if you are Awolaja John Ebimobere, you can simply use 'Awolaja John' as your name on social media. It is very wrong to joke with your name if you want to attract serious-minded people. For instance, Olamide should not be written as "Horlamide" on your profile unless you are an artist, and it is your stage name.

Here is a short exercise from today's review. Kindly suggest a social media name to a lady whose name is AYODELE OLUWASEUNTITUNLAYEMINIGBAGBOGBO RACHEAL.

I await your suggestions in the COMMENT SECTION☺☺☺

  8. See how you joined Ayo mi and my name together, well done jare.

While I was at home, because I am fond of leaving my hair for so long, mum will always say 'Omoge, you should remake your hair oh' and will be rubbing my head. Your piece brought back that memory. And you are absolutely right about everything you said. Well done dear.

And of course, the name should be 'Ayodele Racheal'.
